We played by GM’s rules, became highly efficient and have earned a place in the New GM

The speed of GM’s movement of means of production out of Mansfield places our urgency of action on saving Mansfield in high gear. We must move in a unified manner around a plan adopted by the community and supported by all.

  • Keeping the GM Mansfield-Ontario Stamping Plant open is in the best financial interest of the New GM. The plant is equipped through its high efficiency culture, equipment, and current set up to be the lowest cost stamping plant for the New GM.

  • The Mansfield workers have already produced the most efficient GM stamping plant.. The workers have earned a place in the New GM. This plant has the ability to accept a three-shift, 100% load better than any other plant. The cost savings that result from these factors will more than offset any other cost issues such as transportation.

  • Closing the GM Mansfield-Ontario Stamping Plant would send the wrong message to other workers at the New GM that performance does not make a difference in job security.

Announcement!
